Bad Beat Jackpot?

Of course there is no actual bad beat jackpot promotion on PokerStars but if there was I would have been involved in it today (well, depending on the requirements I guess...I've seen some pots qualify for the BBJ if aces full (AA as hole cards) gets cracked but it might be more common to have to have quads get beat)! Regardless, since there is no BBJ, I'm glad I came out on the winning end of the cooler lol.

No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (8 handed) -
Button ($91.10)
SB ($152)
BB ($213.30)
UTG ($288.25)
UTG+1 ($222.85)
MP1 ($200)
Hero (MP2) ($200)
CO ($200)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with Q, J
1 fold, UTG+1 bets $6, MP1 calls $6, Hero calls $6, CO calls $6, 3 folds

Flop: ($27) A, K, 10 (4 players)
UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets $16, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls $16, 1 fold

Turn: ($59) 4 (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $36, UTG+1 calls $36

River: ($131) K (2 players)
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $76, UTG+1 raises $164.85 (All-In), Hero calls $66 (All-In)

Total pot: $415

Results:
UTG+1 had A, A (full house, Aces over Kings).
Hero had Q, J (royal flush).
Outcome: Hero won $412

Always nice to get full value out of the nuts and more importantly get to show down a royal flush! I've heard of people actually checking behind royal flushes to get a badge on ptr but the value of such a badge to me is about $0...so unless I misread the board or misclick expect me to raise the nuts on the river heh!

gl at the tables.

  2. The trick is to wait until they have the 3rd nuts...then hit your royal!
